FAQ

What are Reformer classes?

Reformer Pilates uses a specially designed exercise machine to challenge your body in a safe, low-impact way. The reformer consists of a moving carriage and adjustable springs that create resistance. This spring-loaded tension mimics the effect of gravity, allowing you to build strength by pushing and pulling against the resistance.

During a class, you’ll perform a wide range of controlled movements that engage your arms, legs, core, glutes and back. Many of these exercises target muscles that aren’t commonly used in everyday activities. Maintaining control of both your body and the moving carriage is key, which naturally activates your core and improves overall body awareness.

The aims of exercising on the reformer include:

  • Increased flexibility and range of movement

  • Improved posture, coordination and balance confidence

  • Enhanced overall fitness

What do I bring to my Reformer class?
  • Comfortable, fitted clothing (not too loose to avoid catching on equipment)

  • Grip socks are recommended for stability during standing exercises
(Available for purchase in the clinic)

  • Reformer mats are available for purchase to improve grip and hygiene

  • A towel is helpful if you sweat or prefer extra grip for your hands

How long are the classes?

All Reformer classes run for 45 minutes. Each session includes a gradual progression of exercises to allow for a proper warm-up, followed by stretching at the end.

How many people are in a class?

Classes are limited to a maximum of 6 participants, allowing for close supervision and personalised instruction. Booking early is recommended to secure your preferred time and day.

How do I book?

Bookings are managed through the Pogozo App. Once registered, you can:

  • View the class timetable

  • Book and pay for classes online

  • View upcoming visits, payments and class history

  • Cancel sessions with adequate notice

How do I choose a class? What are the differences?

All classes are led by qualified Physiotherapists who have completed Reformer training and certification. This ensures exercises can be monitored, adjusted and corrected throughout the session.

Because we can modify exercises as needed, all classes are suitable for both beginners and advanced participants. While class titles may indicate a particular focus, each session will challenge a variety of muscles, postures and movement patterns.

Do I need to see a physiotherapist first?

If you plan to claim Private Health Insurance benefits, an initial assessment is required. This helps us identify any injuries, weaknesses or concerns to ensure safe and effective participation.

If you are already receiving physiotherapy at the clinic and wish to start Reformer classes, a brief equipment introduction can be arranged prior to your first class.

Can I claim classes on private health insurance?

Reformer classes may be claimed through private health insurance under Physiotherapy – Group Therapy (Item 560). Rebates vary depending on your insurer and level of cover.

What if there’s no space in a class?

Due to limited class sizes, waitlists are often in place and are managed through the Pogozo App. We encourage you to join the waitlist, as places frequently become available.

Please ensure SMS and email notifications are enabled. If a spot opens, you’ll receive an automated SMS and will need to reply “Y” or “N” promptly. You’ll then receive confirmation of your selection.

What happens if I miss a class?

We understand that unexpected events can occur. However, a 2-hour cancellation notice is required for all classes.

  • Late cancellations may incur a $20 fee

  • Failure to attend without cancelling will incur a $40 ‘no-show’ fee

Fees will be deducted from your account.
